I sent this mothers day order very late Friday night Mexico time (so crazy busy at work I kept forgetting before) so you would have received it Saturday morning UK time, and the gift was delivered the same day!!! Dear Bombay Duck,

I was wondering if by any chance you could come to my rescue? We recently got married on the 12th of August and received your Humbug Silverplate Cake Slice as one of our presents from a guest. My wife took an immediate shine to it and the first time we had some friends round was Sunday just gone and she took great delight in making a blackberry pie in order to use the slice.

Problem comes in that I did the washing up that night after the visitors had gone and being a tad heavy handed knocked the ‘humbug’ end against the sink causing it to break into 3 main pieces. I could glue it but I think she might spot this. At present it is back in the box inside the bag waiting for Kasia to find it and my life becoming one that is not worth living other than in the garden shed.

Is there any chance you sell the humbug end separately so I could buy one? Or do I need to buy a brand new slice- if so the website currently says sold out, will you have these back in stock or do I need to pluck up the courage and come clean?

Anyway you could help me I would be extremely grateful, I really don’t know how I get myself into these situations.
